Theatinerstrasse
Munich
Architects: Andreas Beier Architektur // Project size: four fully glass showcases // Completion: 2025
Fashion house Max&Co is the proud new tenant in Munich's elegant shopping street Theatinerstrasse. The existing building has been demolished and a completely new store featuring four fully glass showcases on the first floor now adorns the street.
ABT Deutschland is responsible for the structural safety of these glass showcases. The collaboration between architect Andreas Beier (Germany), glass contractor Si-X (Netherlands), and ABT (Germany) was a success. The architect was charmed by the boldness and enthusiasm we displayed.
ABT's boldness was in making glass fully load-bearing and obtaining approval from a strict structural verification engineer. Si-X's courage was in providing a fixed price early in the process, while ABT's commitment was in fulfilling their promise. This gave the client early certainty regarding quality and price.
ABT Deutschland´s success: contributing process knowledge.
The central communication through ABT Deutschland served as the 'magic ingredient' for the Dutch partners Si-X and ABT. The process knowledge of German projects meant that at the right moments, attention was drawn to create room for additional fees.

By providing insight into the (different) obligations in a German project phase and monitoring these, ABT Deutschland relieves the Dutch consultants of burden, allowing them to focus on what they love most: designing and engineering.
It was important to be of service to the architect's ambition: What can we do to make your dream a success? By working with variants and sketches, the architect was given choices and felt the center of all attention.
Oosterhoff's added value:
Integrated mindset in consulting
Collaboration in the design-engineering-construction triangle
In summary: from dream to realization
Scope of services: Structural design (glass and steel)
